Everyone Is Welcome Here!

We are here for your child and you!
At Village Pediatrics we understand that there is nothing more important than the health and wellbeing of your child. Parents and caregivers need a pediatric team they can trust and rely upon to help you keep your child healthy and thriving.
Our philosophy is every child deserves the best care possible and our goal is to deliver that care. It truly does take a village to raise a child!
The following list discusses some of our philosophies and practices.
We look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to our Village Pediatrics family!
Vaccines
We firmly believe in the safety, efficacy and importance of vaccines and highly recommend following the schedule outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics(AAP).
However, we do accept families who do not vaccinate because we believe that infants, toddlers and children of all ages should receive reliable quality health care.
All unvaccinated patients will be seen and treated in Suite #11, right across from Suite #10. At Village Pediatrics, our primary goal is to ensure the health and well-being of all of our patients.
In instances where a known vaccine preventable disease is in the community such as measles, chicken pox or pertussis, and your child is ill, unfortuately we cannot see them in our office as we cannot risk infecting other children. At this time we may ask to see your child in your car or send you to an urgent care or ER. We do ask that before you go into any medical facility with your sick child, you inform them ahead of time so necessary precautions can be taken to prevent the spread of the illness.
Antibiotics
We work hard to not overuse antibiotics and base our decision on a number of factors including evidence-based guidelines. We will always explain the reasoning behind our decision and welcome any questions you have regarding the care and treatment of your child.
We do not routinely prescribe antibiotics over the phone. We always want to see your child as soon as possible in the office to be evaluated.
Patient Center Medical Home
As your child's Patient Center Medical Home, our goal is to provide quality, comprehensive medical care for both well child visits and when your child is ill or injured. Please feel free to contact our office with any concerns. If your child is ill or injured, we will see you as soon as possible, usually the same day and, if necessary, refer you to the most appropriate specialist. We will also help coordinate your child's care whenever we refer you to a specialist.
When you do see a specialist, please ask them to send a report to our office. Knowing their advice is very important. It also helps us coordinate your child's care and ensures their medical record is up-to-date.
Technology
While we appreciate the use of technology and encouraged you to consult our website for questions and office information; we are never more than a phone call away! We value person to person communication, so never hesitate to call.
Office Hours
We are here Monday-Thursday 8:00AM-5:00PM, Friday 8:00AM-4:00PM, and most Saturdays 9:00AM-1:00PM.
We will gladly schedule a same day appointment when you have a health care concern for your child and would like to have them seen. Please call right at 8:30AM when our phones turn on for the first available sick visit appointment slot.
We suggest calling at least a month in advance to schedule routine health care visits.
After Hours
We have a Physician or Nurse Practicioner on call 24/7, 365 days/year. When our office is closed and you have an urgent issue that cannot wait until morning, please call our answering service at 248-584-6117. The provider on-call will call you back as soon as possible. Please save routine questions (mild illness, appointments, general questions, prescription refills) for the following morning.
You may wish to check the "Is Your Child Sick?" section of our website for helpful information before using this service.

We don't want you to be surprised by a bill. Please call us if you have any concerns.
We always bill your health plan based on federal guidelines and services provided.
Scheduled Appointments
If you have a health care concern for you child, please call our office to speak with one of our nurses. If you would like you child seen, they will schedule an appointment. Sometimes an appointment may not be necessary and our nurse will advise you regarding the care of your child or check with the physician and call you back.
For well visits, call our routine appointment line. Well visits may be scheduled up to 3 months in advance.
Timeliness & Missed Appointments
Our practice makes every effort to run on time as we believe everyone’s time is equally valuable.
We will remind you several days before your upcoming appointment via phone call or portal reminder.
We ask that you arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We understand sometimes things happen beyond your control that may cause you to be late. Please call us if you are running late. However, we might ask you to reschedule if you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment.
Missed appointments represent a cost to us, to you, and to other patients who could have been seen in the time set aside for you. We reserve the right to charge a fee for missed appointments. Also, we request 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments.
